Connecticut residents have experienced disruption caused by storms, increased rate hikes by Eversource, and are concerned with the impact the climate crisis will have on their homes and businesses. As Vice Chair of the Energy and Technology Committee and the Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Clean Energy Caucus, I have been a strong voice for the 2nd District
In the 2019 legislative session I was proud to support the state’s largest expansion of offshore wind energy and spearheaded the passage of solar energy legislation, increasing consumer choice and protecting over 2,200 local jobs.
Designated an “Environmental Champion” by the League of Conservation Voters and received a 100 percent score based upon my voting record during the 2019, 2021, and 2022 legislative sessions.
- I will continue to advocate for Danbury’s fuel cell industry, which has contributed to our economy in the 2nd District and across the state.
- I will oppose any efforts to gut funding to the Connecticut Green Bank.
- I will continue to be a vigorous defender of our public lands and I will do everything possible to preserve and protect our state’s most beautiful environments.
The current regulatory system is failing consumers and it is time to re-configure that system. In 2020, As Vice Chair of the Energy Committee I passed the Take Back the Grid Act, making our electric utilities more accountable for performance, and strengthening compensation for ratepayers who lose power for significant periods of time.
